Man Utd 1-0 Fulham

Manchester United hung on by the skin of there teeth as they beat a resilient Fulham side at Old Trafford.Wayne Rooney gave United the lead on 43 minutes after a defensive error allowed Jonny Evans to set up Rooney who smashed the ball home. United didn’t play particularly well and were fortunate not to concede a penalty when Michael Carrick bundled over Danny Murphy on 87 minutes.

Fulham were irate at the injustice and Fulham manager Martin Jol made his feelings known after the match. He went on to say “No-one in the stadium could say Danny Murphy dived and everyone in the stadium expected a penalty.

“A few years ago, the ball was a metre over the line and they did not give it. Maybe the linesman was not quick enough that time.

“But tonight the referee was there in line. It needed a brave decision because it was either a dive and he should book someone or he has to give Carrick a red card.”

A wins a win at this stage of the season for Manchester United and they go three points clear at the top.

Rooney Apologises For Breaking Boys Wrist

Wayne Rooney accidentally fired a stray shot into the stands at Molineux last Sunday when he was warming up and it hit nine year Jamie Thomas. The young lad was about to watch his first ever match when he blocked the ball with his arm whilst in the stands. The shot broke his wrist and Rooney issued an apology via his twitter account.

Wazza tweeted “I want to apologise to Jamie Thomas. I have arranged for a letter and a signed shirt to be sent to his home address.”

The young lads dad said “It shook him up a bit but he’s fine about it now and I don’t think it’s put him off going to other games.

“I don’t think Rooney realised what he had done, otherwise I am sure he would have come over.”
