17th May 09 - Man Utd 0-0 Arsenal
Manchester United's record equaling title win at Old Trafford came against Arsenal yesterday. The performance may not have been as good as they were hoping but they did enough to bag a hat trick of Premiership titles. Wayne Rooney's contribution over the course of the season has been superb as usual, scoring vital goals and making a fantastic contribution to the team. Rooney and Ronaldo have been at the heart of the majority of attacks United have put together this season and can now look forward to a trip to Rome.
28th March 09 - England 4-0 Slovakia
Wayne Rooney scored twice as England breezed past a lucklustre Slovakia side. The scoreline flattered the visitors and if England had been more clinical in front of goal it would have been more. Emile Heskey opened the scoring before going off injured shortly afterwards. Rooney put England 2-0 up heading in a trade mark cross from the record breaking capped outfield player David Beckham. Frank Lampard tucked away number three before Rooney completed the rout with a nice touch with his right root then scoring with his left.
12th March 09 - Man Utd 2-0 Inter
The Champions League holders marched into the quarter finals with a 2-0 victory over Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan at Old Trafford. Nemanja Vidic opened the scoring with a header after just 4 minutes and Cristiano Ronaldo wrapped up the win in the second half. United's performance was far from flawless with passes going astray in an uncharacterisitc first half display. Inter Milan hit the wood work twice and both Rooney and Ronaldo had chances to make the result even more emphatic.

5th March 09 - Newcastle 1-2 Man Utd
Man Utd cruised to 7 points clear at the top of the table with a game in hand at St James Park last night. Goals from Berbatov and Rooney sealed the win as manager Sir Alex Ferguson praised the players grit and determination. United came from a goal down as Lovenkrands opened the scoring after 9 minutes. Wayne Rooney, returned to the starting line up after recovering from a virus, scored a fantastic goal on the turn with 20 minutes gone. Ronaldo and Steven Taylor were involved in a bust up in the tunnel at half time. Dimitar Berbatov broke the Magpies hearts in the 56 minute after a mix up in defense.

2nd March 09 - United Win Carling Cup
Manchester United won a dramatic penalty shoot out at Wembley as Tottenham held Sir Alex Ferguson's men for 120 minutes. Thanks to goalkeeping heroics of Ben Foster United were victorious 4-1 on penalties.
1st March 09 - Rooney Eyes Quadruple
Wayne Rooney believes United are strong enough to win all four trophies still on offer. Man Utd have already added the World Club Championship to last years Premiership and Champions League double. With the Red Devils in unstoppable form Wazza believes that every trophy there in they can win.
Wayne went on to say "We have a great chance in the Carling Cup, we're in a good position in the league, the quarter-finals of the FA Cup and have a good chance of reaching the same stage in the Champions League.
"It will be hard work to win them all but we are positive and that's what we're aiming to do. "We are stronger than last season when we won the double. "And winning the Champions League has given us an added confidence and belief which has brought us on."
19th February 09 - Rooney Returns, Scores and United Win
Man Utd notched up another 3 points in the title race with a convincing win over Fulham. Scholes and Berbatov both scored for United. Wayne Rooney came on in the second half getting his first taste of football for seven matches and scoring with his first touch.

23rd January 09 - United's Injury Woes Continue
Manchester United's growing injury list has left no fewer than 11 senior players nursing injuries in the run up to the weekends FA Cup tie with Spurs at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney is still out with a hamstring injury, Anderson and Jonny Evans picked up ankle injuries against Derby in the semi final of the League Cup, Nani (groin strain), Da Silva (hamstring), Evra (toe), Rio Ferdinand (back), Wes Brown (ankle) and Park and Hargreaves also make the list. Tevez, Ronaldo and Berbatov are fit to play along with some young talent. But this list is a big concern for United's followers as we go into the business end of the season.

Wayne Rooney got himself on the score sheet after Man Utd brushed aside a lackluster Chelsea with ease. United are now just 5 points behind leaders Liverpool and one point behind Chelsea with two games in hand over the pair of them.
Rooney said afterwards "It's down to us. If we win our two games we'll be top of the league.
"That might only last until Liverpool play Everton but on Saturday night we want to look at the table and see ourselves on top of it.
"The win against Chelsea was very important. We needed to take advantage of Liverpool's draw. Now that we've done that, if we've done our job right by Saturday and won the two games, we'll be top."
